Job summary

NOOTER Construction is seeking a Director of Scheduling to provide strategic leadership for enterprise-wide construction scheduling across industrial, manufacturing, technology, and capital projects. You will drive scheduling excellence, build high-performing teams, and deliver critical insights into performance, resource planning, forecasting, and risk.

This role can be based in Toledo, OH, Philadelphia, PA, or Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in construction scheduling, project controls, or related field.
  • 5+ years leading schedulers or project controls professionals.
  • Experience managing schedules for complex industrial or large-scale projects.
  • Experience with governance across multiple projects or programs.
  • Strong CPM, forecasting, and schedule recovery knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization's scheduling function across a portfolio of projects.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Estimating, and Project Management to set priorities.
  • Provide executive schedule analysis, forecasting, and portfolio reporting.
  • Mentor and develop scheduling professionals and establish governance standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in scheduling practices and project execution.

Director of Scheduling

As a Director of Scheduling, you will provide strategic leadership for enterprise-wide construction scheduling activities across complex industrial, manufacturing, technology, and capital construction projects. This role is responsible for driving scheduling excellence, developing high‑performing teams, improving project predictability, and providing executive leadership with critical insights into project performance, resource planning, forecasting, schedule risk, and successful project delivery.

Day in the Life

As the Director of Scheduling, you will lead the organization's scheduling function, overseeing a portfolio of industrial construction, manufacturing, technology, and capital projects. A typical day includes collaborating with Operations, Project Management, Engineering, Estimating, Construction, and Project Controls leaders to establish scheduling priorities, evaluate project performance, and identify critical path risks that could impact project delivery. You will provide executive‑level schedule analysis, forecasting, resource planning, and portfolio reporting while overseeing the development and maintenance of complex project schedules. This role also involves leading and mentoring a team of scheduling professionals, establishing governance standards, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Through strategic leadership and data‑driven decision‑making, you will help improve project execution, resource utilization, forecasting accuracy, and schedule reliability while ensuring leadership has visibility into project health and organizational performance.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in construction scheduling, project controls, project management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience leading, managing, and developing project schedulers or project controls professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience managing schedules for complex industrial, manufacturing, technology, or large‑scale construction projects.
  • Experience managing scheduling processes, standards, and governance across multiple projects, programs, or business units.
  • Advanced knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, schedule development, forecasting, schedule recovery, and project controls principles.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling platforms.
  • Strong understanding of construction execution methodologies and project lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to present schedule performance, forecasts, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and project stakeholders.
