Job summary

Medstaff Group is seeking an experienced Director of Respiratory Therapy to lead pediatric respiratory services in a Brooklyn facility. The role requires clinical excellence, proven leadership, and a commitment to high-quality, safe patient care.

You will oversee daily department operations, mentor staff, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize treatments and outcomes for pediatric patients.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist credential and any required state license.
• Extensive respiratory therapy experience, including pediatric care.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead respiratory therapy services and oversee daily department operations.
• Supervise, support, and develop respiratory therapy staff.
• Assess patients’ respiratory status and oversee care plans and treatments.
• Ensure appropriate delivery of therapies such as oxygen, aerosolized medications, airway clearance, and ventilatory support, as prescribed.
• Oversee the use, maintenance, and readiness of respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen delivery systems.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and ensure changes in condition are communicated promptly to the care team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support compliance with applicable policies and standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical leaders to coordinate respiratory care.
• Support staff training, competency development, and infection prevention practices.
• Review quality and safety indicators and identify opportunities to improve care and department performance.

• Schedule: Full-time, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
