Position Summary
The Director of Resource Centers provides strategic and operational leadership for the Community Food Banks (CFB’s) Nogales, Green Valley, Amado, and Gabrielle Giffords Resource Center in Tucson. This role oversees site operations, food distribution, community partnerships, resource center operations, and staff leadership across sites. Working in partnership with the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Programs, this role helps develop and implement strategy for Resource Center services, strengthen food access, and ensure Resource Centers are responsive to community need. The Director works across departments to support coordinated service delivery, operational alignment, and community resource connections.
Key Responsibilities
Resource Center Operations
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Nogales, Green Valley, Amado, and Gabrielle Giffords Resource Centers.
- Ensure consistent, safe, and effective food distribution and service delivery across sites.
- Monitor operational performance and implement improvements that strengthen efficiency and community impact while complementing and strengthening CFB’s partner network.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that support consistent operations across Resource Centers.
- Oversee Resource Center expansion, operational consistency, and service model implementation across assigned locations.
Leadership and Staff Development
- Supervise and support Resource Center managers and site staff.
- Foster a collaborative, values-driven workplace culture that supports accountability, professional development, and strong team performance.
- Provide coaching and leadership development to support effective site management.
- Build leadership capacity across Resource Center teams through delegation, mentorship, and performance accountability.
Community Needs and Partnerships
- Assess community needs across assigned service areas through engagement with neighbors, partners, and local stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and service providers to strengthen coordination of services.
- Work in consultation with CFB Programs to align partnerships, referrals, and outreach activities with organizational services.
- Identify service gaps and provide recommendations to improve access to food and supportive resources.
- Oversee SNAP benefits outreach across CFB’s service area and support coordination of related services based on community need.
Community and Business Engagement
- Provide leadership for community and business engagement efforts that strengthen partnerships and expand support for CFB’s mission.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with local businesses, civic groups, and community organizations to increase community awareness, volunteer engagement, and philanthropic support.
- Coordinate with the Community Engagement team on special events and outreach opportunities, including efforts such as NALC and Hunger Walk.
- Serve as a representative of CFB with community networks, civic groups, and business leaders to build long-term partnerships that support organizational priorities.
Operational Coordination
- Work in consultation with Warehouse Operations to coordinate inventory needs, delivery schedules, and product flow for Resource Center distributions.
- Communicate site demand and operational needs to support warehouse planning and food allocation.
- Work with Facilities to address maintenance, safety, and site readiness needs across Resource Center locations.
- Collaborate across departments to support coordinated, efficient, and mission-aligned service delivery.
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and oversee operational budgets for assigned Resource Centers.
- Monitor budget performance and ensure responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
- Support planning related to staffing, infrastructure, and operational needs across sites.
- Oversee DES reporting and other required Resource Center reporting, documentation, and compliance activities.
Strategy and Organizational Alignment
- Provide operational insight that informs organizational strategy and future Resource Center development.
- Partner with the COO and Programs to develop and implement CFB priorities related to food access, community partnerships, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support coordinated service delivery across the organization.
- Provide leadership to ensure Resource Centers are responsive to community needs and promote equitable access, dignity, and respect for neighbors served.
- Use operational insight, community input, and performance trends to guide recommendations for the future direction of Resource Centers.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure Resource Center operations comply with CFB policies and applicable standards including AIB, DES, OSHA, Feeding America, and relevant regulations.
- Support consistent implementation of food safety, sanitation, and operational procedures across sites.
- Promote a culture of safety and support site readiness for inspections, audits, and operational reviews.
Data and Performance Management
- Oversee data collection and reporting related to Resource Center operations.
- Use operational and community data to inform decisions and support service improvements.
- Oversee reporting related to Resource Center operations, service delivery, and benefits outreach, and use data to support planning and performance improvement.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Resource Center operations and CFB’s mission.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven (7) years of experience overseeing program or operational functions in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
- Three (3) years of staff management and supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Community Health, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License with a clean driving record; ability to travel to CFB locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multi-site operations or community-based service delivery programs.
- Experience working in nonprofit organizations, food banks, or community resource networks.
- Experience in organizational development, strategic planning, or systems improvement.
- Experience with DES reporting, contract compliance, SNAP outreach, or government-funded service programs.
