Job description

Synergy Care is looking for a qualified Rehab Director/Physical Therapist Assistant for an open position in Jackson, La. This is a long-term VA facility.

You must be a licensed physical therapist assistant.

Responsibilities

• Implement Treatment Plans: PTAs work directly with patients to carry out treatment plans developed by physical therapists. This includes guiding patients through therapeutic exercises designed to improve mobility, strength, and coordination.
• Monitor Patient Progress: They observe and document patients’ progress during therapy sessions, providing feedback to the supervising physical therapist. This helps adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery.
• Assist with Therapeutic Modalities: PTAs may use various physical modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and massage to relieve pain and promote healing. They are trained to operate equipment and apply techniques that aid in patient recovery.
• Educate Patients and Families: PTAs provide education to patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies to support recovery and prevent further injury.
• Prepare Treatment Areas and Equipment: They are responsible for setting up therapy equipment and ensuring that treatment areas are clean and safe for patient use.
• Collaborate with Healthcare Team: PTAs work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
