Job summary

Mariner Healthcare seeks an experienced Rehabilitation Program Director to oversee the overall administration, clinical planning, development, and operations of the Rehabilitation Program at our San Rafael facility.

You will lead staff recruitment, orientation, and training, ensure high-quality care, coordinate therapy services, and monitor financial performance in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited school in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current valid state licensure as a PT, OT, or SLP where applicable.
• Three to five years’ previous clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee rehabilitation department administration, clinical planning, development, and operations.
• Recruit, hire, orient, train, and retain rehabilitation staff; ensure performance meets expectations.
• Schedule residents for therapy services and manage treatment hours and staffing resources.
• Evaluate and develop in-house therapy programs, equipment, and staffing ratios.
• Complete required forms and documents per company policy and regulations.
• May perform patient care duties as licensed. Manage clinical performance and financial results.

Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall administration, clinical planning, development, and operations of the Rehabilitation Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Recruits, hires, provides orientation/training, and retains a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of the Rehabilitation department. In conjunction with the Regional Rehabilitation Manager, ensures employee performance meets or exceeds expectations and periodic performance appraisals are conducted on a timely basis.
• In conjunction with the Regional Rehabilitation Management, ensures rehabilitation staff is providing appropriate care to Resident in keeping with established standards for quality and in accordance with generally established principles of care.
• Supervises the scheduling of residents for therapy services considering available treatment hours, staff resources and overall plan of care.
• Manages the evaluation and development of in-house therapy programs including equipment assessment and staffing ratios.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• May be required to perform patient care duties as their licensed discipline.
• Responsible for clinical performance for rehabilitation department.
• Responsible for financial performance of rehabilitation department.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Three to Five (3-5) years’ previous clinical experience preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Management responsibility for all rehab department staff, in conjunction with the Regional Rehabilitation Manager and VP, Rehabilitation.
