Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a Director of Rehabilitation (Therapy) to lead the rehab program at our 146-bed facility in Worcester, MA. The role requires an OT, PT, or SLP and offers a salaried position with weekly pay at $50–$60 per hour, depending on license and experience.

You will oversee clinical planning, operations, staff development, budgeting, and program growth while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Speech/Language Pathology.
• Two to four years of clinical experience required.
• One to two years of supervisory experience with multi-disciplines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality and appropriateness of patient care meeting company and industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Directs scheduling of patients for therapy services considering hours, resources and plan of care.
• Participates in team meetings to formulate treatment plans and discharge planning with families/caregivers as needed.
• Reviews therapist documentation for clarity and outcome goals.
• Maintains a clinical caseload.
• Generates and analyzes financial, operational and productivity reports; contributes to budget development.
• Ensures weekly/monthly statistics, patient outcome data and billing logs are accurate and reported timely.
• Maintains staffing and supervises program staff in daily operations and clinical activities.
• Coordinates program development activities with Administrator and other leaders to introduce new services.

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is looking for a Director of Rehabilitation (Therapy) to join our team! Worcester Rehab is a 146-bed skilled nursing facility. Must be an OT, PT, or SLP. Salaried role ranging from $50 to $60 an hour, depending on license and experience, with weekly pay.

In this department head role, you are responsible for the overall administration, clinical planning, development, marketing, and operations of the rehab program within the facility. You manage and direct staff in the provision of program services to patients, residents, and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s, as required for initial professional preparation, in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Speech/Language Pathology.
• Two (2) to four (4) years of clinical experience required.
• One (1) to two (2) years of supervisory experience with multi-disciplines preferred.

Duties

• Ensures that the quality and appropriateness of patient care meets or exceeds company and industry standards and ensures that all Rehab services are in compliance with state and federal legal, regulatory, accreditation and reimbursement guidelines.
• Directs and assesses the scheduling of patients/residents for therapy services considering available treatment hours, staff resources and overall plan of care.
• Participates in team meetings to formulate treatment plans, discuss progress and discharge planning, and attends family/care giver conferences as needed or appropriate.
• Reviews therapist documentation practices for clarity, conciseness and consistency with patient outcome goals and payor expectations.
• Maintains a clinical caseload.
• Generates and analyzes financial, operational and productivity reports as required; contributes to the development of the annual operating and capital budget.
• Ensures that weekly and monthly statistics, patient outcome data, and billing logs are accurate, complete, and reported timely.
• Maintains sufficient staffing by responding to changes with impact on staffing needs.
• Supervises program staff in daily program operations and clinical activities; monitors staff efficiencies and routinely provides feedback. Continuously promotes interdisciplinary, clinical reasoning skills and best practices within rehabilitation.
• Initiates the coordination of program development activities with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, Medical Director and other department directors for the purpose of introducing new and relevant services for the persons served and the community.
