Job summary

Pawnee Mental Health in Kansas is seeking a Recovery Services Manager to direct the RS program across a 10-county service area, ensuring continuity of quality services and alignment with our mission. You will lead and develop staff, oversee budgeting, and maintain program records to support client care and compliance.

As a key member of the management team, you will develop policies and outcomes, liaise with state agencies, and collaborate with the Medical Services Team to maximize treatment

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, or closely related field.
  • Licensed or able to be licensed as aQMHP by the State of Kansas.
  • Licensed Master Addiction Counselor (LMAC) certification.
  • 5 years of direct experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic personal computer skills.

  • Direct the Recovery Services (RS) program across Pawnee's 10-county service area.

What You’ll Do
  • Direct the Recovery Services (RS) program throughout Pawnee's 10-county service area to ensure the viability, consistency, and continuity of quality services.
  • Provide training to meet the needs of the RS program personnel.
  • Hire, supervise and evaluate qualified staff, including supervisors, and ensure they are trained to meet the needs of the RS program. Document concerns and provide feedback as necessary to ensure program quality and viability.
  • Assist the financial program in preparing and managing a budget that balances the needs of the RS program with the financial objectives of Pawnee Mental Health Services. Part of this is ensuring that client care expectations are being met for the program. Provide support and direction to the supervisors to hold their staff accountable for their expectations and take appropriate action to ensure compliance as necessary.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of program and management activity records.
  • Oversee and participate in the development of specialized clinical services offered through the RS program.
  • Participate, or assign the Recovery Services Manager to participate, in county drug courts.
  • Oversee and maintain the licensing and/or certification of Pawnee’s RS program.
  • Oversee progress of all RS staff toward meeting established client care expectations, revenue, prior authorization, state reporting requirements and documentation expectations and take appropriate action to ensure compliance as necessary.
  • Provide leadership and serve as a member of local, state or agency committees and work groups as assigned.
  • Actively lead and/or participate in meetings, committees and work groups as required.
  • Develop, monitor and review strategic plans for the RS program based upon community and client needs, within regulatory standards, and work toward their completion.
  • Develop, refine, and review policies and procedures related to all activities of RS.
  • Develop and monitor outcome measures for the RS program and its clients.
  • Serve as a member of the management team.
  • Perform census-development and outreach efforts to potential referral sources, in part to maximize client use of the CSU detox capacity.
  • Support cooperation and collaboration between RS and the Medical Services Team by maximizing use of Medication Assisted Treatment.
  • Maintain a clinical case load at an expectation developed by the Chief Clinical Officer.
  • Maintain records of program and management activities.
  • Manage grant and funding issues for RS programs.
  • Ensure the RS program remains compliant with mandatory state reporting.
  • Liaise with state and local mental health, health care, school districts, community, and social services organizations related to alcohol/drug services as well as family maltreatment services.
  • Provide reports, information and data concerning RS activities as requested; monitor and assist as needed in audits or reviews performed internally and by outside agencies.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge and skills related to field of work through regular review of pertinent materials and attendance at training events.
  • Contribute as needed to the continual development and refinement of, and adhere to and enforce, the standards, policies and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment.
  • Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.
Requirements
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, or closely related field.
  • Licensed or able to be licensed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) by the State of Kansas.
  • Licensed Master Addiction Counselor (LMAC) certification.
  • 5 years of direct experience working in the behavioral health or substance use treatment field.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Basic personal computer skills.

Required:

  • Progressive experience in alcohol and drug services.
  • Prior management/supervisory experience.
  • License to practice independently.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software.
