Job summary

Custom Power is seeking an experienced Director of Quality to lead quality across our US custom battery pack operation in Fountain Valley, California. This is a high-visibility role responsible for the QMS and quality across the full product lifecycle, from suppliers through delivery.

You will drive the quality strategy, raise standards, embed a quality-first culture, and develop the Quality team while partnering with Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain to improve reliability and process

Qualifications

• Senior quality leadership experience in regulated manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Strong QMS knowledge, ideally AS9100, with practical QA/QC, supplier quality, audits.
• Ability to influence, challenge and drive change across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Quality strategy and continuous improvement of the QMS.
• Oversee QA, QC, inspection, product verification and final quality outcomes.
• Lead supplier quality, audits, CAPA and corrective actions.
• Own FAIRs, PPAPs, control plans and customer quality requirements.
• Strengthen root-cause analysis, prevention of quality escapes and CAPA.
• Use quality data and KPIs to drive measurable improvements.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain to improve reliability.

Custom Power is looking for an experienced Director of Quality to lead Quality across our US custom battery pack operation in Fountain Valley.

This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for the Quality Management System and quality across the full product lifecycle, from suppliers and incoming inspection through manufacturing, verification and final customer delivery.

We need a credible, technically strong Quality leader who can help develop and deliver our quality strategy, raise standards, strengthen process discipline and embed a genuine quality-first culture.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver Quality strategy and continuous improvement of the QMS.
• Oversee QA, QC, inspection, product verification and final quality.
• Lead supplier quality, audits, corrective actions and improvement.
• Own FAIRs, PPAPs, control plans and customer quality requirements.
• Strengthen root-cause analysis, CAPA and prevention of quality escapes.
• Use KPIs, audits and quality data to drive measurable improvement.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain to improve reliability and process capability.
• Develop the Quality team and drive accountability across the business.

What we are looking for

• You will have senior Quality leadership experience within a regulated manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally battery technology, electronics, aerospace, defence, medical devices or another mission-critical sector.
• You will bring strong QMS knowledge, ideally including AS9100, with practical experience across areas such as Supplier Quality, QA/QC, FAIRs, PPAP, CAPA, root cause analysis, process validation, traceability and quality auditing.
• Most importantly, you will be a leader who can influence, challenge and drive change across the organisation.
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related discipline is desirable, together with an ASQ/equivalent Quality qualification and/or Lead Auditor experience.
