Job summary

LHH in Los Angeles is seeking a Director of Programs for Homeless Services & Housing to oversee shelter and housing programs across Los Angeles County. Director of Programs | Homeless Services & Housing

We're looking for an experienced Director of Programs to oversee shelter and housing programs serving individuals experiencing homelessness throughout Los Angeles County. This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys mentoring managers, and is passionate about delivering high-quality services to vulnerable populations.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support Program Managers across multiple sites and provide supervision
• Ensure programs meet contract requirements, compliance standards, and performance goals
• Conduct regular site visits and provide hands-on operational support
• Guide teams through crisis response, incident management, and program challenges
• Monitor program outcomes, reports, audits, and corrective action plans
• Drive continuous improvement and service excellence across all programs

What You Bring

• Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field (required)
• A minimum of 3 years of recent leadership experience in a shelter setting [Emergency Shelter, Interim Housing, or Transitional Housing] (required)
• Experience overseeing multiple programs and managing leadership-level staff
• Strong knowledge of compliance, contracts, audits, KPIs, and program operations
• Ability to coach teams, build trust, and lead with empathy and accountability
• Preferred Experience:Homeless Services, Housing Navigation & Rapid Rehousing, Re-Entry Programs, HMIS, Behavioral Health or Community-Based Services
