Job summary

Fruition Group US is seeking a Director of Platform software to lead the technical direction and team delivery of its onboard vehicle software platform. The role covers embedded firmware, OS, runtimes and middleware with a focus on safe, reliable, high-performance systems.

You will own the complete platform software stack and drive architecture, roadmap, and cross-functional collaboration across autonomy, safety, and vehicle platforms.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years leading organizations of 40+ engineers.
• Experience deploying software on physical hardware in production.
• Autonomous vehicles or safety-critical systems experience.
• Knowledge of automotive functional safety, including ISO 26262.
• Experience with high-performance, low-latency compute platforms and physical AI systems.

Overview

We are seeking a Director of Platform software, to focus across technical direction and leading of the team across development and delivery of its vehicle software platform. This role will focus across embedded firmware, operating systems, runtimes and middleware, where we are seeking a candidate whom can combine technical ownership, organizational leadership and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safe, reliable and high-performance onboard systems.

You will own the complete platform software stack for our ground breaking autonomous vehicle platform.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end onboard software architecture and roadmap across embedded compute, OS, drivers, middleware and system diagnostics.
• Lead and develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders across a large organization.
• Align software priorities and delivery with autonomy, vehicle platform and safety teams.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading organizations of 40+ engineers through multiple management layers.
• Strong systems software expertise across embedded firmware, Linux/BSP, real-time middleware or high-performance runtimes.
• Experience deploying and maintaining software on physical hardware in production.
• Proven ability to lead large engineering organizations and manage cross-functional technical ownership.
• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Autonomous vehicles, robotics or other safety-critical systems experience.
• Knowledge of automotive functional safety, including ISO 26262.
• Experience with high-performance, low-latency compute platforms and physical AI systems.
