Job summary

HIA Health is seeking a Director of Philanthropy to lead our development team and advance fundraising across major gifts and annual campaigns. The role involves strategic leadership, donor cultivation, and ensuring compliance with fundraising standards.

Responsibilities include building relationships with new and existing donors, providing accurate development reports to the Executive Director and Board, and shaping long-range philanthropic strategies that support the mission and ensure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role with team management.
  • Proven experience in major gifts and grant fundraising is desirable.

  • Cultivate donor relations and expand funding sources.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting to executives and board.

The Director of Philanthropy positively impacts the local and regional communities and leads our development team to success. This person is responsible for strategic leadership, vision, and management of our overall philanthropic efforts to support major gifts, our annual campaign, and enhance the long-term viability of the organization in accordance with the strategic direction set by the board of directors.Represents and speaks on behalf of HIA Health at a variety of events.Works with Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Development staff to actively identify and pursue new sources of fundingCultivates and maintains relations with new and existing donors and works with them to increase supportEnsures all gifts are properly documentedEnsures cultivation of major donorsProvides accurate development reports to Executive Director and BoardEstablishes long-range philanthropic strategies that reflect the organization’s strategic direction.Remains current on legal and economic issues that affect the development efforts of the organization.Ensures compliance with federal and state standards and regulations related to philanthropy.Develops/maintains internal controls and systems to ensure compliance and transparency and leads development teamParticipates in/assists with projects in other departments as appropriate and as assigned by Executive DirectorBenefits:We offer a robust benefits package for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
