Job summary

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead professional development and core HR programs, strengthening workforce capability and employee growth. The role blends strategic program ownership with hands-on leadership across learning, recruiting, performance management, onboarding, and policy administration.

Arlington, VA-based, in-person presence expected.

Qualifications

• Five-plus strong communication and leadership skills across HR programs.
• Experience guiding professional development, performance, onboarding and policy.
• Ability to handle confidential information and partner with managers.

Responsibilities

• Lead AHRI’s professional development portfolio aligned with workforce needs and priorities.
• Oversee learning operations, vendor management, scheduling, enrollment and reporting.
• Support performance appraisal processes and data quality across teams.
• Advise managers on HR policies, employee relations and development tools.
