Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Director of Operations.

The Director of Operations provides management, supervision, and leadership to effectively schedule, staff, and manage the armed protective force at multiple US government facilities in accordance with Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Standards and Directives, collective bargaining agreement(s), and corporate policies. The Director of Operations conducts operational and security analysis and planning required in the development and implementation of security procedures, plans, and directives in support of specific mission requirements. The Director of Operations provides operational oversight to ensure the protective force operates in a manner to accomplish the security mission at DOE facilities. The Director of Operations is responsible for maintaining high standards of competency, personnel conduct, and staffing in accordance with company policy, contract requirements, and the quality assurance plan, and completes monthly security readiness reporting.

Position will require security clearance, consistent with contract requirements and government approval. U.S. or Naturalized citizenship is required.

This position is contingent upon contract award, and be located on site in Washington DC area.

As the Director of Operations, here's the work you'll do:
  • Assist Program Manager with supervising, scheduling, and directing armed security guard operations and training under direction of US Government supervisory personnel.
  • Onsite supervision of guard force operations and training IAW DOE Order 473.3, corporate, and local regulations and licensing, as well as interaction with US Government personnel.
  • Provide supervisory, quality, and reporting functions to a level which successfully manages the safety of officers, ensures compliance with the PWS, identifies and corrects performance issues, and addresses issues, conducting unannounced and announced inspections
  • Assist Program Manager to plan, manage, and evaluate guard force operations.
  • Evaluate assigned personnel to ensure that all positions/labor categories are filled with qualified, certified, cleared, and licensed personnel.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Working knowledge of access control systems and of protection criteria for sensitive/classified materials and Federal facilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software to include Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer.
  • Working-level knowledge of labor relations, logistics, communications and armory operations.
  • Ability to develop security plans, policies, post orders, and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, oral and written skills, as well as demonstrated effective leadership and team-building skills.
And if you have these qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in law enforcement, security management, or related fields.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant commercial or government experience in security, law enforcement, military, protective force, or comparable operational environments in a management role.
  • Experience supervising or managing a workforce of over 200 personnel governed by a collective bargaining agreement.
  • Experience in personnel management and evaluation, planning and scheduling, analysis and reporting, and providing results in oral and written formats.
  • Current DOE Q access authorization or;
  • Meet eligibility requirements that support obtaining a DOE Q access authorization, including either:
  • A current DOE Q access authorization or equivalent current clearance, such as a Top Secret clearance; or
  • Eligibility for granting or reinstatement of DOE Q access authorization. This generally requires that the individual has been the subject of a federal background investigation that meets the scope and extent of a Single Scope Background Investigation and was conducted or updated by reinvestigation within the most recent five years.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the hourly pay range for this role is $175,000- $225,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
