The Opportunity

Our client is a WBENC-certified, women-owned flexible food packaging company headquartered in the greater Austin area. Founded in 1999, the company designs, prints, and supplies lidding films, barrier films, form-fill-seal films, bundling films, stand-up pouches, and custom PE packaging to food and consumer goods manufacturers across the U.S., serving customers in dairy, frozen foods, snacks, beverages, soups and sauces, and pet care. The company operates an asset-light, partner-network model, working with extrusion, lamination, and printing partners in North America, South Korea, and India while maintaining a domestic warehouse in Kansas City, KS.

The company is in an active growth phase, up 10% last year and on track to reach $10M in revenue, and is building out its leadership team to support that trajectory. This is a hands-on director role. You will own the operations and supply chain function outright, run it day to day, and build the processes and systems the company needs for its next stage of growth.

What You'll Do
  • Own order-to-cash: Manage customer purchase orders end-to-end in QuickBooks, including invoicing, payables, and receivables, while building processes that will eventually let routine entry move off your desk.
  • Build the operating playbook: Write and roll out SOPs for order entry, purchase orders, partner production tracking, receiving, inventory reconciliation, and invoicing.
  • Manage supplier performance: Serve as the primary operations contact for manufacturing partners in the U.S., South Korea, and India. Build a supplier scorecard covering on-time delivery, quality, and lead time, and run regular performance reviews.
  • Own inventory and planning: Track and plan inventory across the Kansas City warehouse and 6-7 supplier locations, anticipating shortages and maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate logistics: Move orders from partners through the warehouse and out to 40+ customer plants nationwide, including import freight, shipment tracking, and expediting when needed.
  • Lead the systems roadmap: Evaluate whether and when the company should move from QuickBooks to an ERP, and bring leadership a clear recommendation with costs and a timeline.
  • Keep certifications audit-ready: Partner with the COO to maintain SQF, BRC, and ISO 22000 supplier and customer documentation, track expirations, and prepare for audits.
  • Deliver for customers: Be a responsive, solutions-oriented point of contact. The company has built its reputation on service, and operations is where that promise is kept.
Why This Role Is Different

For more than 25 years, our client has won and kept customers against much larger converters by being faster, more responsive, and more technically capable. In this seat, you report directly to ownership, you have real authority over how operations runs, and the results of your work are visible every day. There is no layer of management between a good idea and putting it into practice.

The role also comes with a clear path forward. The company is growing and plans to expand the team, and this person will build and lead the operations function as it scales.

The Culture

The team is fiercely loyal, collaborative, and committed to each other’s success. They want someone who takes ownership, speaks up early when something is going sideways, and follows through on commitments. This is an onsite role, and the team works closely together day to day in Dripping Springs. Transparency and integrity matter far more to leadership than a perfect resume.
