Lead a National Operation. Drive Scalable Growth.

An established and growing organization is seeking a high-caliber Director of Operations to take a strategic leadership role across a nationwide manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain network.

Reporting directly to the President, this position will play a critical role in connecting operational performance with business growth. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence how facilities operate, how inventory moves through the organization, how suppliers and logistics partners are managed, and how manufacturing capabilities support the company's commercial objectives.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced operations executive who combines manufacturing leadership, supply chain expertise, financial discipline, and continuous improvement with the ability to build strong teams and drive measurable results.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for elevating operational performance across multiple locations while creating the infrastructure needed to support continued expansion.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Provide leadership and direction across a multi-site manufacturing and distribution network.
  • Work closely with plant and facility leaders to improve productivity, capacity utilization, quality, safety, and overall operating performance.
  • Establish meaningful operational metrics and accountability systems that drive consistent results across locations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, improve throughput, and strengthen manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop and execute strategies for facility expansion, acquisitions, equipment investments, and overall network optimization.
  • Take ownership of supply chain performance, including sourcing, logistics, freight, inventory, warehousing, and third-party providers.
  • Improve inventory turns, accuracy, availability, and utilization while maintaining appropriate service levels.
  • Anticipate supply chain challenges and develop proactive solutions to protect production and customer commitments.
  • Partner with Finance to improve margins, manage operating costs, optimize working capital, and evaluate major capital investments.
  • Use financial and operational data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and profitable growth.
  • Strengthen the connection between operations and sales by ensuring manufacturing and distribution capabilities are aligned with customer demand.
  • Support new product initiatives, market expansion, and increased sales volume through effective operational planning.
  • Develop and reinforce a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across operations, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Background in roofing, building products, construction materials, or a related industrial/manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading multiple manufacturing or distribution locations.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated financial understanding, including P&L, COGS, budgeting, working capital, margin improvement, and capital planning.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems, demand planning, forecasting, and S&OP.
  • Proven ability to lead operational improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; MBA is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence everyone from plant-level teams to executive leadership.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40%, including overnight domestic and occasional international travel.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facilities and business locations.
Why This Role Matters

This isn't simply a position focused on keeping plants running. The Director of Operations will help shape the operational strategy behind the company's next phase of growth.

The right leader will have the opportunity to improve the way facilities operate, strengthen the supply chain, develop scalable processes, improve financial performance, and create greater alignment between operations and the commercial organization.
