Job summary

Arcadia Care is seeking a Director of Nursing to plan, organize, and direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards to maintain high-quality care.

The role requires a nursing degree and an Illinois RN license, with a preference for candidates with supervisor healthcare experience. The DON will oversee staffing, regulatory compliance, and coordination with resident services in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess a current Illinois unencumbered license to practice as a RN.
• 3 years of experience in a supervisor healthcare role, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long‑term care facility.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
• Ensure enough licensed practical and/or registered nurses; Certified Nursing Assistants; medications; and safety equipment are available and utilized in the proper manner for each shift to ensure that quality care is maintained.
