Job summary

Ivory Wellness Center is seeking a Director of Nursing Services to lead the nursing department, ensure high‑quality resident care, and maintain compliance with policies. The role directs professional and auxiliary nursing staff, coordinates with physicians and administration, and drives quality improvements across the facility.

You will oversee budgeting, staffing, training, and in‑service programs while promoting a compassionate, safety‑driven culture.

Qualifications

• The Director of Nursing must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with RN licensure.
• Minimum five years of full‑time clinical experience, with at least two years in nursing supervision in long‑term care.
• BSN degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops philosophy, objectives and standards of nursing practice aligned with the facility goals.
• Monitors nursing care to ensure resident fairness, kindness, dignity and respect.
• Maintains and updates policies and procedures governing nursing functions.
• Completes daily rounds to assess nursing needs and care quality.
• Reviews progress notes to reflect care plans and resident responses.
• Manages budget for the Nursing Services department in collaboration with the Administrator.
• Maintains relationships with residents, families, physicians and the community.
• Provides direction to nursing staff through policies, meetings and memos.
• Develops short and long‑range plans for nursing aligned with facility plans.
• Serves on committees and evaluates care activities for improvements.
• Assesses admission needs and ensures appropriate care level is provided.
• On‑call for emergencies 24/7.
• Oversees infection control procedures and staff training.
• Recommends equipment and supplies to meet resident needs.
• Notifies attending physicians and families of significant changes.
• Ensures care plans are implemented and updated as needed.
• Coordinates nursing with other departments for integrated care.
• Ensures physician orders are followed and documented incidents are reported.
