Job description

Now offering a $5,000 sign on bonus! At Summit Hills, we believe some of the most meaningful leadership opportunities in healthcare happen in smaller communities, where relationships matter, decisions can be made quickly, and leaders have the ability to truly make a difference every day. As a 24-bed Skilled Nursing neighborhood, we offer something unique: the opportunity to step away from the complexity and scale of a large facility and focus on what drew you to nursing leadership in the first place, delivering exceptional care, supporting your team, and building strong connections with residents and families. Whether you're an experienced DON looking for a refreshing change of pace or an ambitious ADON ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to talk with you.

Recognized as a Great Place to Work®, our philosophy of "People First, Always" guides everything we do. We invest in our team members, foster collaboration, and create an environment where leaders are empowered to succeed.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
  • Lead a small, 24-bed skilled nursing community where you can know every resident and team member by name.
  • Make a visible impact on quality, resident outcomes, and team culture.
  • Enjoy a more manageable environment than a large skilled nursing facility, with the ability to be hands-on and involved.
  • Grow your career in a supportive organization that values leadership development.
  • Join a collaborative leadership team committed to excellence in resident care and team member experience.
About the Role:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, supervision, and quality of nursing services within our Skilled Nursing neighborhood. This position partners closely with community leadership to ensure exceptional clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, resident satisfaction, and team member engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, develop, and oversee all nursing services within Skilled Nursing.
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and compassionate care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, hospice providers, home health partners, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations and standards.
  • Maintain staffing plans and nursing schedules to provide quality 24-hour resident care.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and communicate significant resident changes to appropriate parties.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop nursing team members.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing education for nursing staff.
  • Manage nursing supplies, equipment, and department resources.
  • Participate in community leadership initiatives and quality assurance programs.
  • Serve as an on-call clinical leader and Manager on Duty as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
  • Skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute leadership experience.
  • Prior Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing experience.
  • Experience leading teams, coaching staff, and supporting regulatory compliance.
Who Will Be Successful in This Role?
You are someone who:
  • Values relationships and resident-centered care.
  • Enjoys leading by example and being present with your team.
  • Wants the ability to influence outcomes and see the impact of your leadership firsthand.
  • Is ready for a leadership role where quality matters more than volume.
  • Believes in creating an exceptional experience for residents, families, and team members alike.
