American-Baptist-Homes-of-the-Midwest- leads the Director of Nursing for Skilled Nursing at Thorne Crest in Albert Lea, MN. This full-time role oversees clinical and administrative operations to ensure high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance.

The DON will guide nursing staff, manage budgets, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with physicians and families to support resident well-being. Salary ranges from $99,000 to $116,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in nursing.
• At least 1 year of experience in gerontological nursing, rehabilitative, and restorative clinical practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of nursing and medical practices, regulations, and guidelines related to skilled nursing facilities.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to communicate with residents, families, staff, and other customers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical and administrative operations of the nursing department.
• Lead nursing staff and nurse managers in delivering high-quality resident care.
• Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage staffing levels, performance management, training, delegation, and staff development.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and licensing requirements.
• Monitor quality of care and develop plans of correction when needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, medical professionals, residents, families, and other healthcare organizations.
• Manage nursing department resources, including medications, supplies, equipment, and inventory.
• Prepare and manage the nursing department's annual budget.
• Support residents' comfort, privacy, dignity, and well-being.
• Provide clinical guidance and participate in direct resident care during emergencies or as needed.
• Maintain readiness for annual state and federal inspections.
