Job summary

Walter Reed Post Acute in Virginia is seeking a Director of Nursing to provide clinical leadership, oversight, and direction for resident care. This is a full-time opportunity with an all-inclusive salary range of $110k–$135k.

Responsibilities include staffing planning, rounds, promoting care quality, policy development, mentorship, QA/PI, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regulatory standards. Must hold an active RN license and have 3+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of employment is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital, nursing care center, or related healthcare setting.
• Experience in supervision, leadership, and staff development is required.
• Experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing practices is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families, staff, and external agencies.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and long-term care standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive staffing plan for safe, high-quality resident care.
• Conduct rounds to monitor and enhance nursing care quality.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents, families, staff, and medical team.
• Partner with the Administrator to align care with goals and resident needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate department policies and procedures in line with regulations.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and staff development.
• Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and clinical standards.
