Job summary

Alpine Care of Zion in Illinois is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and ensure high-quality patient care. You will oversee daily operations, develop policies, and coach staff in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Nursing (Master’s preferred), an active IL RN license, and at least five years in a leadership role with strong communication and strategic thinking skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois.
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience in nursing administration.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursing department, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering a positive work environment for our staff.

Director of Nursing (DON) Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, including developing and implementing policies and procedures

• Provide strategic leadership to the nursing team, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability

• Ensure high-quality patient care, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements

• Foster strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals

• Develop and manage budgets, monitoring expenses and identifying areas for cost savings

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication

• Identify and address quality improvement opportunities, implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes

• Recruit, develop, and retain talented nursing staff, providing coaching and mentoring when needed

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and industry best practices

Director of Nursing (DON) Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field (Master's degree preferred)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role, with a strong background in nursing administration

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines
