Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Nursing Director to oversee nursing practices and clinical services across facilities. You will develop and implement clinical protocols, negotiate resources between departments, and ensure seamless patient care delivery.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and collaboration with nursing, medical staff, and operations to uphold regulatory standards and quality metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• RN license with current registration
• Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience
• BLS or CPR certification required

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for steering nursing services within your designated area.
• Monitor daily productivity and adjust to meet productivity standards.
• Lead development, tracking and reporting of annual quality improvement initiatives for each unit.
• Investigate incidents and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with non-nursing departments to raise patient care and satisfaction.
• Conduct clinical rounds to assess patient needs and share observations.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, licensing and accrediting norms.
• Develop metrics, dashboards and tools for service delivery monitoring.
• Encourage open communication within the department.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical staff and operational directors for safe patient care.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Be accountable for steering nursing services within your designated area of work.

• Delve into unfortunate incidents, analyzing data and findings to single out areas for enhancement.
• Form effective partnerships with non-nursing departments to raise the level of patient care and satisfaction.
• Regularly conduct and participate in clinical rounds to identify patient needs and share observations.
• Assure adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory, licensing, and accrediting norms.
• Develop and apply metrics, dashboards, and tools for service delivery monitoring.

• Partner with nursing, medical staff, and operational directors for safe patient care.

Key Success Factors

• Prior experience in a supervisory role would be highly favorable.
• Demonstrable proficiency in problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Better communication skills, including verbal, written, and presenting.

• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitate (CPR): BLS or CPR Required.
