The Arbor Company seeks a Director of Nursing (RN required) for Arbor Terrace Montgomery, a premier assisted living and memory care community in Montgomery Township, NJ. You will lead the resident care team, ensure clinical excellence, and oversee regulatory compliance.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will recruit, coach, and develop staff, manage schedules, and partner with physicians to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• RN license is required or preferred for leadership in nursing.
• Experience leading nursing teams in senior living or similar healthcare settings.
• Strong communication, organization, and coaching abilities.
• Ability to manage staffing, scheduling, and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

Opening in 2027. Arbor Terrace Montgomery is a new assisted living and memory care community in Somerset County, located in Montgomery Township, minutes from downtown Princeton.

What You'll Do

As the Director of Nursing, you'll serve as a key member of the leadership team and oversee all resident care operations while developing and supporting a high-performing clinical team.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain compliance with all applicable state regulations

• Lead, mentor, and develop nurses, caregivers, and medication staff

• Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and quality of care

• Ensure medication management and clinical documentation meet company and regulatory standards

• Recruit, coach, and retain an engaged resident care team

• Manage staffing schedules and labor resources

• Partner with residents, families, physicians, and healthcare providers to deliver exceptional care

• Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and department leaders to enhance the resident experience

• Promote resident safety, employee engagement, and Arbor's culture of excellence

• Participate in Manager-on-Duty and on-call rotations as needed

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• NJ RN license preferred

• Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to lead, coach, and develop a clinical team

• Experience with staffing, scheduling, and clinical documentation

• Ability to work a flexible schedule and participate in on-call responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience in assisted living, memory care, long-term care, home health, hospice, or another healthcare setting

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR)

• Quality assurance and regulatory compliance experience

• Senior living experience is not required. We welcome experienced nurse leaders from a variety of healthcare settings who are excited to learn and grow in senior living.
