Job Title: Director of Nursing (DON)

We are looking for a results‑oriented Director of Nursing (DON), with strong leadership interpersonal and communication skills to exercise administrative and functional supervision over nursing personnel as directed by the Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing department to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and standards.
• Exercise administrative and functional supervision over nursing personnel.
• Lead a team of nursing staff and foster a team atmosphere with the nursing division.
• Teach and lead by example on all shifts.
• Act as liaison with residents, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for resident needs.
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
• Ensure knowledge of state reporting and develop and implement plan of corrections.
• Follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
• Display integrity and professionalism in all things.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Nebraska with an active RN license in good standing throughout employment.
• Supervisory experience in a long‑term care setting preferable as a DON in Nebraska.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to lead a team of nursing staff.
• Knowledge of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a long‑term care facility in Nebraska.
• Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
• Knowledge of state reporting and ability to develop and implement plan of corrections.

Required Experience
