Archstone Recovery in Florida seeks an experienced Nursing Director to lead a team of RNs and support staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and HIPAA compliance while partnering with medical leadership to coordinate services.

Responsibilities include staff development, policy creation, audits for licensing and accreditation, and adherence to Joint Commission and AHCA standards. Strong clinical judgment and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Nursing or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Current RN license – Florida.
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of local, state and federal laws and guidelines.
  • Experience in medical/sub-acute detox environment; strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and AHCA standards; preferred.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, EMRs; Sunwave preferred.
  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • CPR/First Aid/Aggression Control/Bloodborne Pathogens.

  • Implement QA/QI programs for Infection Control, Med Errors, Incidents, Grievances, etc.
  • Coordinate with pharmacy to ensure DEA-compliant medication handling.
  • Assist with audits for licensing and accreditation.
  • Audit charts for documentation timelines per UR, DCF, Joint Commission, AHCA.
  • Attend leadership meetings.
  • Ensure care plans have required documentation.
  • Administer medications orally or subcutaneously.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job description

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promote the mission, values and vision of organization.
  • Provide excellent customer service for patients, practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance HIPAA requirements.
  • Lead the nursing staff in delivering excellent care to patients and offering quality support to the medical staff.
  • Ensure that each nurse on staff is properly certified and abides by the standards for care established by the organization and state and federal laws.
  • Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPN etc.) Including but not limited to: Hiring, Scheduling, Staff Development, and Termination.
  • Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
  • Guide staffing procedures
  • Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures within department
  • Create new policies and update existing policies to help improve the level of care for each patient; enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards.
  • Resolve issues and deficiencies, as needed.
  • Manage record-keeping procedures.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to streamline operations.
  • Implement quality improvement programs designed to help us deliver the highest possible levels of service. Ensuring compliance with monthly QA/QI reports for Infection Control, Med Errors, Incident Reporting, Grievances, and other reports, as needed.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy consultant to ensure facility compliance with medication handling and destruction, as in accordance with DEA regulations.
  • Assist Operations and Clinical Director with audits for licensing and accrediting bodies.
  • Implement systems to ordering of necessary medications, PPE and other equipment needed within nursing department to treat clientele.
  • Audit charts for compliance with documentation timelines based off UR, DCF, Joint Commission and AHCA requirements.
  • Attend leadership meetings.
  • Ensure that all patient care plans have the documentation necessary to provide the proper type of care.
  • Administer medication orally, subcutaneously.
  • Performs other duties as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing or related field is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Current RN license – Florida.
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing, supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of local, state and federal laws and guidelines.
  • Experience working in a medical/sub-acute, detox environment; strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Joint Commission and AHCA standards; preferred.
  • Relevant computer software and hardware applications proficiency – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Electronic Medical Records,; Sunwave preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • CPR/1st Aid/Aggression Control/Blood borne Pathogens.
