Job summary

View Behavioral Health Child, Colton campus seeks a Director of Nursing to provide strategic and operational leadership across pediatric and adult facilities. You will oversee nursing operations, maintain compliance, and drive quality improvement in a dynamic behavioral health setting.

The DON will partner with the Medical Director, develop staffing models, supervise nursing leadership, and ensure survey readiness with DHCS and Joint Commission in a rapidly expanding program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of nursing leadership experience in behavioral health.
• Child/adolescent psychiatry experience required.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and accreditation standards.
• Proven ability to lead multi-site or expanding operations.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation.
• Fluent English communication.
• CPR, BLS, and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Our Child & Adolescent program offers a safe, structured environment focused on stabilization, evidence-based treatment, and family-centered care. As we expand, the campus will include adult services, supporting a full continuum of care for the communities we serve.

Director of Nursing (DON)

Department: View Behavioral Health Child & Adolescent + Adult Facilities, Colton

Pay: Depends on experience

Position Summary

The Director of Nursing provides strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services across the Colton campus, including both the Child & Adolescent facility and the adult unit upon opening. This role is responsible for nursing operations, compliance, quality assurance, infection prevention, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all nursing operations across both facilities
• Ensure compliance with licensing requirements, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
• Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Partner with Medical Director on clinical initiatives and regulatory readiness
• Oversee medication management processes and nursing documentation standards
• Develop staffing models, schedules, and workforce plans aligned with census growth
• Manage and mentor nursing leadership, including House Supervisors and Charge Nurses
• Serve as a key leader in survey readiness forDHCSandJoint Commission
• Identify and resolve system issues within the EHR impacting clinical workflows
• Lead policy development and implementation for nursing services

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of nursing leadership experience in behavioral health
• Experience in child/adolescent psychiatry required
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and accreditation standards
• Proven ability to lead multi-site or expanding operations
• Demonstrated sound professional judgment; clinical judgment where applicable to licensure/role.
• Proficiency in the use of computers and standard keyboard functions for data entry and electronic documentation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
• Current CPR, BLS, and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within90 days of employment
• Demonstrate understanding and compliance with Patients' Rights, LPS Statutes, and Seclusion and Restraint Protocols.

• Compliance with all required health screenings and immunizations in accordance with regulatory guidelines and facility policy, which may include tuberculosis (TB) testing, N95 fit testing, annual trainings, and proof of vaccination for certain communicable diseases
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts as needed, based on operational or patient care needs
