Job summary

Moultrie, headquartered in Birmingham, AL, seeks a Director of App Development to own the long-term vision for our mobile and web apps. You will lead a diverse engineering team, drive platform strategy, and balance maintaining the current app with building a next-generation AI-enabled experience.

You will evaluate MAUI versus native approaches, champion architectural excellence, and collaborate with product and UX to deliver delightful customer experiences across mobile and web platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years leading mobile or full-stack teams.
• Experience delivering consumer-facing mobile apps on iOS and/or Android.
• Ability to make and defend platform/architectural decisions with data-driven rationale.
• Experience managing parallel workstreams while maintaining existing products and building new ones.
• Strong product sensibility and understanding of great mobile experiences.
• Proven track record of improving app quality via customer signals (ratings/retention).
• Excellent communication to non-technical leaders and partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead a ~20-engineer team across mobile and web, fostering high standards.
• Make data-informed technical decisions and set architectural direction.
• Evaluate MAUI-based approach vs native paths and define a transition plan.
• Maintain current app while prototyping a next-generation experience.
• Own web services expansion and ensure consistent user experiences.
• Oversee billing, entitlements, and secure handling of customer data.
