Description
The Director of Membership Recruitment oversees the membership recruitment team through development, implementation, and assessment of the council membership recruitment strategy for new girls and adults. Focus for this position is growing girl and adult membership using data and strategic approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, support, and direction to the membership recruitment department to drive volunteer and girl membership growth that meets the council’s new member goals.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop, execute, track, and report out on an annual plan in support of the organization’s multi-year strategic plan.
- Supervise and coach direct reports; ensure quality and efficient work of department staff.
- Develop dynamic, high-quality sales training tailored to Girl Scout recruitment to equip department staff with the skills needed to effectively reach recruitment and conversion goals.
- Utilize data to develop, implement, and monitor an innovative, dynamic, and strategic plan to grow girl and adult membership.
- Utilize monitoring and evaluation tools to improve membership recruitment and conversion systems and strategies for girls and volunteers.
- Leverage national and local resources to ensure a well-rounded and strategic approach to membership recruitment.
- Collaborate with other GSHPA departments to leverage existing programs and platforms to support recruitment campaigns.
- Ensure timely, efficient, and effective communications for prospective members.
- Oversee processes that ensure a streamlined approach to membership recruitment and conversion that simplifies administrative processes and focuses on an excellent customer experience for all prospective members from the initial interest through the time that membership has been purchased; facilitate a seamless handoff to the membership engagement team once the prospect has become a member.
- Act as a catalyst for and effective developer of solutions to key business challenges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of five years management and supervisory experience of at least 12 direct or indirect reports, preferably in a sales role at a non-profit or member-based organization, or in commercial/retail sales.
- Proficient in MS Office, and virtual meeting platforms. CRM experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively identify, analyze, and solve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt well to changing circumstances, direction and strategy.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license; access to reliable transportation required.
- Pass and maintain required background clearances.
