Job summary

Confluence Philanthropy, based in Oakland, CA, seeks a high‑performing Member Relations Director to drive engagement with members, manage programs, and lead special initiatives. You will collaborate with the CEO and management team, oversee investor initiatives, and organize impactful events.

A minimum three‑year commitment is expected; women and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply. The role reports to the CEO and Managing Director, with a base salary of $90,000–$100,000 plus

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in nonprofit management, communications, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented work style with discretion.
  • Experience engaging with diverse groups and high‑level executives.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Commitment to DEI in philanthropy.

Responsibilities

  • Member Engagement and Volunteer Management: develop relationships with members and partners; ~6 domestic trips per year.
  • Program Management and Development: oversee membership programs and investor initiatives; grant writing.
  • Special Projects: organize gender lens investing, racial equity initiatives; retreats.
  • Annual Conference Leader: curate content for Confluence Gathering; conference planning experience.
  • Evaluation and Research: oversee membership data collection and program metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
