Qualifications

• Advanced level proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment in OSHA compliance.
• Select, develop, train, and motivate staff to meet growth objectives.
• Lead Production Managers and Shift Supervisors across multiple shifts.
• Drive quality, service and continuous improvement across the business.
• Ensure financial goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
• Data-driven problem solving within a team.
• Develop and improve measurement and control systems for productivity, quality and cost containment.
• Develop business plans and budgets to grow profitability.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and manage supplier performance.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory, warehousing, planning/scheduling and delivery.
• Keep Sr. Leadership apprised of progress via monthly reports and financial reporting.
• Identify areas for improvements and ensure actions are implemented.
• Lead preventive maintenance and automation initiatives in the plant.
• Stay informed of market trends and maintain customer relationships.

Your Opportunity:

Taylor Corporation is looking for a Director of Manufacturing Operations at our Corporate Graphics Commercial facility in North Mankato, MN!

Your Responsibilities:

• Responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards for all employees.

• Selects, develops, trains and motivates staff to ensure attainment of short- and long-term growth objectives.

• Leads the Production Managers and Shift Supervisors in the operation of a multiple shift manufacturing facility, including development of a highly responsive production team.

• Leads the plant team on quality & service improvement and continuous improvement in all aspects of the business.

• Leads the operation to ensure all financial goals and objectives are met or exceeded.

• Data driven Problem Solving within a team environment.

• Develops and improves measurement and control systems to ensure highly effective performance in the areas of productivity, quality and cost containment.

• Develops business plans and budgets to contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the Company.

• Negotiates vendor contracts and holds current vendors to contractual obligations.

• Oversees the effective management of purchasing, inventory control, warehousing, planning/scheduling and delivery.

• Keeps Sr. Leadership apprised of progress toward objectives through monthly progress reports and financial reporting.

• Identifies areas requiring improvements and ensures the appropriate production or administrative functional areas implement necessary actions.

• Leads the development of preventive maintenance programs for the physical facility and plant equipment.

• Supports the implementation of automated systems throughout the plant.

• Remains informed of competitive activities, trends in the market, as well as maintains a sound relationship with customers.

You Must Have:

• 8+ years of applicable and progressive experience in manufacturing and operations leadership

• Proven track record in the use of Continuous Improvement tools and methodology such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques & metrics

• Strong knowledge of plant operations, warehouse management, demand planning and Capital Expenditures

• Solid understanding of unique customer requirements, and skills to strategically plan for effective production runs

• Advanced level proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

We Would Also Prefer:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or related field plus 5+ years of applicable and progressive experience in manufacturing and operations leadership

• Demonstrated experience in providing creative solutions to complex customer facing issues

• Direct experience interacting with customer leadership team(s) to accomplish business objectives.

• Proven leadership, communication, teaching, motivation, change management, project management, and strategic thinking skills

• Ability to prepare and present complex information to Executives while generating a strategic plan that integrates business issues, functions and resources for effective action

• Solid understanding of financial accounting

• General understanding of job costing and profitability implications

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $105-$135k. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
