Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Director of Manufacturing to lead dairy production processes, ensure on-time, cost-efficient operations, and meet safety goals.

You will oversee raw milk transport, supplier relations, production planning, facilities engineering, and regulatory compliance while building teams and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred
  • 7+ years in dairy or food manufacturing with progressive responsibilities
  • Expertise in manufacturing, warehousing/cold storage, and dairy facilities; UHT pasteurization & aseptic manufacturing a plus
  • Demonstrated hands-on leadership with strategic execution
  • Reputable leadership in the Dairy/Beverage industry

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operational performance and resource allocation across the plant
  • Lead manufacturing planning to meet demand while controlling costs and forecast accurately
  • Drive product margins and cost control using financial data and manufacturing metrics
  • Benchmark and implement best practices across operations
  • Support capital asset planning for facilities and equipment needs
  • Establish strong partnerships with strategic suppliers and stakeholders
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, state agencies, OSHA, DOT) across all sites
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent; set expectations and accountability
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for execution of the Dairy manufacturing processes to ensure accurate, on-time, and cost-effective processes to meet safety goals, customer service requirements and organizational goals.


This includes raw milk transport, key supplier strategy and relations, purchasing and production planning oversight/strategy, all manufacturing operations/processes, regulatory, safety, and security compliance, plant facilities engineering and development, and personnel oversight and team development



  • Manage the overall operational performance to allocate resources, manage risks, and provide leadership and inspiration.

  • Drive operational planning that is successful in maintaining manufactured goods production and inventories that fulfill customer demand while maintaining overall cost effectiveness. Develop accurate forecasts.

  • Drive optimal product margins and operating costs by leveraging financial reporting and manufacturing data, to manage cost variables and cost-control methods to meet plant profitability goals.

  • Benchmark and implement best practices

  • Support Capital Asset Planning that provides for current and future facilities and equipment requirements and keeps the business unit current with technology advances.

  • Establish strong working relationships with strategic partners to optimize value creation for all parties.

  • Ensure compliant regulatory operations (FDA, Arizona Department of Agriculture, OSHA, DOT, etc.) through established processes that require and promote compliant practices across all environments.

  • Identify, recruit and retain strong talent. Creates accountability; provides clear direction; sets and monitors high standards of excellence; rewards people based on performance; proactively and fairly resolves performance issues.

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree preferred

  • 7+ years progressive professional experience in a Dairy or food manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated expertise with a variety of manufacturing, warehousing/cold storage, and dairy products facilities. Expertise in UHT Pasteurization and Aseptic Manufacturing a plus

  • Demonstrated hands-on leadership with strong strategic acumen and execution.

  • Reputation for excellence as a leader within the Dairy/Beverage industry
