  • Experience supporting distributed, field-based, or operational workforces (retail, logistics, or field services preferred).
  • Proven success designing and scaling training frameworks.
  • Experience implementing LMS or digital learning platforms.
  • Strong understanding of safety and compliance in operational environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience building and managing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution capabilities.
  • Advanced analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and drive large-scale change.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Overview

Director of Learning & Development

SPAR is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Learning & Development to build and lead a centralized Learning & Workforce Enablement function. This is a ground-up opportunity for a strategic, hands-on leader who excels at creating structure, driving clarity, and delivering measurable business impact.

In this role, you will design and execute SPAR’s national training strategy across field operations, safety, leadership development, and compliance. This position blends strategy and execution, requiring a leader who can build scalable frameworks while remaining closely connected to Field Operations, Client Services, Talent, HR, and Executive Leadership to ensure learning directly drives business performance.

What You Will Do
  • Design and scale a national Learning & Development strategy, including competency models, career pathways, and structured onboarding and certification programs

  • Integrate safety into the broader workforce training strategy to support operational excellence
  • Select, implement, and optimize LMS and digital learning platforms, including mobile-first solutions for a distributed workforce
  • Standardize content governance, training frameworks, and learning pathways to ensure scalability and consistency
  • Design and lead the Learning & Development function, partnering with field leadership while building a sustainable, data-driven model for long-term growth

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role operates in a professional office environment with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite, 1 day remote). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
