Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK seeks a Director of Lab Services to lead the hospital laboratory team on day shift. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of operations and patient-focused service.

You will supervise staff, manage the department budget, drive quality and regulatory compliance, and build a strong leadership team to ensure efficient lab services across the hospital and ambulatory sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Physical Science, or an AAS in Medical Laboratory Technology with >8 years in the clinical laboratory and >3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Laboratory certification: CLS, MLS, MT or equivalent.
• 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in the laboratory.
• 3+ years of management experience.

Responsabilités

• Directly supervises all activities of the hospital laboratory team, makes hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions; evaluates performance of direct reports.
• Develops a sound leadership team to manage daily laboratory functions; sets goals and holds leaders accountable.
• Develops, secures approval for, and administers the laboratory department budget; manages cost containment and client/patient satisfaction.
• Develops short and long-term department goals based on hospital and corporate initiatives; communicates these goals to stakeholders.
• Maintains records and ensures compliance with all policies and applicable regulatory agencies.

Supervision Duties:

• Directly supervises all activities of the hospital laboratory team, makes decisions regarding hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions in accordance with the hospital/corporate salary and personnel policies’ and evaluates performance of individual employees that report directly to this position.
• Develops a sound leadership team to manage the daily functions of the laboratory and directly manages these leaders, sets goals and objectives and holds leaders accountable to such goals and objectives.

Financial Duties:

• Develops, secures approval for, and administers laboratory departmental budget in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Responsible for cost containment, efficient operations, client satisfaction, employee satisfaction and effective utilization of the clinical laboratory as it services hospital and ambulatory physician and patient needs.

Strategic Development:

• Develops short and long-term goals and objectives for the department based on hospital specific and corporate initiatives.
• Responsible for clear communication of goals and objectives to organization stakeholders and staff as indicated.
• Maintains records and compiles data to ensure compliance with all Division/Corporate policies, and with applicable regulatory agencies (local, state, federal, and accreditation) to meet regulations.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Physical Science OR Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with >8 years of experience in the clinical laboratory and >3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Laboratory certification from an accredited laboratory certification program:
  • CLS, MLS, MT or equivalent
• 3+ years’ progressive leadership experience in the laboratory setting
• 3+ years’ management experience

• Entry Level Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook
• Excellent communication skills.
