Job summary

The Director of Internal Audit will lead our global audit function, moving beyond compliance to become a strategic advisor for our rapidly scaling tech environment. Reporting to the VP of Internal Audit, this role has high visibility and direct reporting to executive leadership and the Audit Committee.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a risk‑based annual internal audit plan and support Enterprise Risk Management activities aligned with company strategy.
• Next‑Gen Auditing: Drive adoption of AI, machine learning, and automation tools to transition from sample‑based testing to continuous monitoring and full‑population data analysis.
• SOX Governance: Direct the end‑to‑end global SOX404 compliance program, ensuring best‑in‑class documentation, testing, and remediation of control gaps across financial and IT processes.
• Operational & Strategic Audits: Lead complex audits focused on operational efficiency, product security, and scalable business processes, delivering root‑cause insights and confidential investigations as needed.
• Cross‑Functional Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management and process owners; evaluate emerging risks for new product launches, M&A activity, and system implementations; partner with external auditors.
• Board Reporting: Prepare compelling reports for the Audit Committee and senior management, translating complex risks into clear, actionable insights.
• Team Development: Manage and mentor a high‑performing audit team across multiple geographies, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in Internal Audit, SOX compliance, or risk management within a large multinational public tech company.
• Senior managerial experience at a Big4 public accounting firm is required.
• Certifications: CPA/CA/CIA required; CISA, CFE, or CRMA a plus.
• Proficient in AI and automation software for audit procedures and large dataset analysis.
• Deep familiarity with cloud‑based ERPs (NetSuite/Workday) and audit management platforms such as Workiva or AuditBoard.
• Knowledge of USGAAP, COSO/COBIT frameworks, and PCAOB standards.
• Exceptional communication skills to influence stakeholders and simplify complex regulatory requirements for non‑finance audiences.
• Strong team‑player with a builder mindset, thriving in ambiguity and viewing emerging tech as an opportunity to disrupt audit bottlenecks.

Compensation for the Belmont, CA location ranges from $159,250 to $227,500, with eligibility for variable pay, equity, and benefits. Salary may vary by location, skills, and experience.
