Our innovative models transform lives, enhance communities, and save healthcare systems millions of dollars. Rather than focusing on archaic outdated design, we strive to consistently question the “status-quo” and create new and more innovative ways to help aging adults and adults with disabilities maintain their quality of life.

Are you ready to lead the strategy behind IOA's corporate, foundation, and government funding partnerships? As Director of Institutional Giving, you'll drive the vision and execution of IOA's institutional fundraising — securing and growing corporate and foundation support while providing thought partnership on renewing and securing key city and state government grants.

Reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropy, you will be a key member of the Philanthropy team, partnering closely with the VP, program leaders, and Board members to grow institutional revenue in support of IOA's mission.

You will oversee all corporate and foundation support for IOA, directly supervise the Grants Manager, and serve as a thought partner and strategic support to colleagues managing the renewal and pursuit of select city and state government grants.

Why Join IOA?
  • Impact: Your work will help transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our community, enabling them to live with dignity and independence.
  • Innovation: IOA's pioneering care model has set new standards in aging services. Be part of a forward-thinking organization that influences national healthcare policy.
  • Leadership: You'll lead and grow IOA's institutional giving program while working closely with passionate Board members, visionary program leaders, and philanthropic innovators.
  • Growth: This role offers significant opportunity to expand IOA's corporate and foundation partnerships and strengthen its government grants pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Growth
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive institutional giving strategy across corporate, foundation, and government funding sources to meet ambitious revenue goals.
  • Monitor emerging trends in foundation and corporate giving activity and recommend responsive approaches to maintaining and growing support for IOA.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner on initiatives that advance IOA’s long-term growth and impact.
  • Help design and shape initiatives that build meaningful pathways for diverse communities to engage with and support the Institute on Aging as donors, partners, advisors, and ambassadors.
Fundraising & Relationship Management
  • Own and grow a portfolio of corporate and foundation funders — managing the full cycle from prospect identification and research through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship — leveraging existing relationships and identifying new prospects aligned with IOA’s strategic priorities.
  • Act as a thought partner and strategic resource for colleagues and consultants leading the renewal of city and state government grants.
  • Partner with program leaders and IOA’s Business Intelligence team to translate program impact and data into compelling funding proposals and campaign strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison across program teams, proactively sourcing program updates and impact stories to inform high-quality proposals and reports.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for IOA with institutional funders, representing the organization in meetings, site visits, and funder convenings.
