Job summary

The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) invites a Director of Organizing and Strategy to advance immigrant rights across New York City, Hudson Valley, and beyond. You will supervise a diverse team, coordinate member networks, and drive multi-level advocacy in collaboration with NYIC’s leadership.

You will liaison with member groups, expand regional engagement, and mobilize allies to build political power for immigrant communities, while representing NYIC publicly and ensuring strategic impact.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant professional experience including team supervision.
• Deep knowledge of federal, state and local immigration policy in NY.
• Proven experience leading campaigns and building diverse coalitions.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience required.
• Fluency in one of the top 6 languages spoken in New York State preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a multi-ethnic network of member organizations and allies.
• Develop and execute state, local, and federal advocacy campaigns.
• Identify and bring in new allies across diverse sectors.
• Coordinate coalition partners around advocacy campaigns and rapid response.
• Serve as NYIC spokesperson in regions, media, and community meetings.
• Collaborate with regional leaders to grow NYIC presence.
• Represent NYIC in lobby visits with elected officials.
• Manage materials and logistics for outreach (up to 50 pounds).
