Job summary

Wilson Utility Helicopters in Lodi, California, seeks a Director of Maintenance to oversee airworthiness, safety, and regulatory compliance for our Part 135 helicopter fleet. This senior role requires hands-on leadership and the development of maintenance programs that meet FAA standards.

You will lead a team of maintenance professionals, manage budgets, coordinate with flight operations, and drive training to ensure dependable operations and minimal downtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in helicopter maintenance with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 135 regulations, maintenance practices, and helicopter systems.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required; IA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor the maintenance team to ensure high standards of performance, safety, and compliance.
• Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including forecasting and controlling costs.
• Implement and oversee a comprehensive training program for maintenance staff to ensure up-to-date knowledge and skills.
• Develop, implement, and manage maintenance schedules and programs to ensure timely and efficient upkeep of the helicopter fleet.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor and improve the quality and effectiveness of maintenance procedures.
• Stay current with FAA regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to helicopter maintenance.
• Prepare and submit required documentation, reports, and records to regulatory agencies.
• Manage and oversee all aspects of FAA compliance, including inspections, audits, and certifications.
• Foster a culture of safety and quality within the maintenance team.
• Investigate and resolve any maintenance-related safety issues or discrepancies.
• Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of maintenance and repair.
• Collaborate with the flight operations team to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions.
• Maintain effective communication with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support maintenance operations.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on maintenance status, fleet condition, and any issues or concerns.
