Position Overview
We are looking for a Director of Gym Operations-focused leader who is passionate about organizing and optimizing processes to drive operational excellence across Operations, Personal Training, and Maintenance. This role supports the COO in translating strategic priorities into clear, actionable plans, coordinating pilot programs, and supporting successful field implementation.
As we scale, this person will manage the operational details, cross-functional collaboration, and follow-through needed to bring initiatives from concept to pilot to successful rollout. By keeping execution organized and teams aligned, this role enables the COO to stay focused on strategic leadership while helping field teams operate more efficiently and consistently.
What You’ll Do
You will bring real-world field and gym experience, with an understanding of the day-to-day realities of the teams you support. You must be highly detail-oriented while also connecting execution to broader business goals.
Working closely with the COO, Operations, Personal Training, Maintenance, and cross-functional partners, you will turn strategic priorities into executable initiatives. This includes coordinating pilots, preparing clubs for implementation, tracking progress, gathering feedback, and documenting processes for broader rollout.
This position is not in the field’s chain of command. Success depends on influencing through strong relationships, clear communication, organization, and accountability. You will coordinate planning, scheduling, resources, instructions, training, implementation, and follow-through while field leaders retain responsibility for team performance and day-to-day execution.
What Success Looks Like
- Greater operational efficiency: Clear, practical standards of practice are created, maintained, and communicated across Operations, Personal Training, and Maintenance to meet business needs and improve consistency.
- Successful initiative execution: Operational initiatives meet defined milestones, achieve adoption goals, and demonstrate measurable results through consistent performance tracking and follow-through.
- Learning translated into action: Partnership with field operators and Learning & Development turns training into practical, consistently applied behaviors and processes.
- Optimized costs and resources: Collaboration with Finance and Procurement identifies cost-saving opportunities, improves resource utilization, and manages expenses while maintaining operational standards and the member experience.
About You
- Detail-oriented: You bring a passion for excellence and ensure the details support the bigger picture.
- Action-oriented: You take ownership, build momentum, and follow through to deliver meaningful results.
- An effective coordinator: You organize people, priorities, and resources, taking timely action to keep initiatives moving.
- A clear communicator: You align stakeholder expectations, encourage dialogue, and make complex information actionable.
- A practical problem-solver: You anticipate challenges, identify solutions, and stay engaged through resolution.
- A collaborative partner: You build credibility with field and support teams and influence outcomes without relying on direct authority.
