Job summary

Worldwide Flight Services seeks a Director of GSE to lead regional GSE managers and coordinate maintenance oversight for multiple airports. The role requires up to 50% travel and daily supervision of onsite and third‑party maintenance teams to ensure adherence to WFS procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and mentoring mechanics.

Qualifications

• Must have expert knowledge of DEF systems.
• Must have expert knowledge of EGR systems.
• History in Airport Ground Support Equipment, or experience in heavy equipment in crane, oil field, mining rail, or maritime preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot on site and remotely to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, and/or electrical discrepancies on various Ground Support Equipment (GSE) systems and subsystems.
• Inspect, repair, and/or overhaul components, such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
• Disassemble components, inspect for quality factors, and reassemble to OEM specifications.
• Strict adherence to all environmental safety and regulatory commissions, including OSHA and EPA.
• Mentor and train current and new WFS mechanics.

Job Summary

The Director of GSE will manage and monitor the Regional GSE Managers. Employee will be travelling up to 50% of the time. Employee will be responsible for daily oversite management of onsite WFS mechanics, third party maintenance contractors, and location compliance of WFS Maintenance procedures for the locations assigned to employee region. Employee will complete or coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot on site and remotely to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, and/or electrical discrepancies on various Ground Support Equipment (GSE) systems and subsystems.
• Inspect, repair, and/or overhaul components, such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
• Disassemble components, inspect for quality factors, and reassemble to OEM specifications.
• Strict adherence to all environmental safety and regulatory commissions, including (but not limited to) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
• Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
• Other assignments as designated.
• Oversite completion of administrative compliance regarding all company procedures
• Oversite completion of all Preventative, routine, and non-routine GSE repairs
• Assist local management with oversite and compliance of WFS procedures with on‑site WFS mechanic, and or third party GSE maintenance providers
• Mentor and train current and new WFS mechanics.

Preferred Skills

• Candidate must be proficient in welding and fabricating.
• Candidate must have expert knowledge of can buss systems.
• Must have expert knowledge of trouble shooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Must be able to travel and support 3 or more airports and must be badged in them.
• Must be willing to work weekends and possible split days off.
• May be called upon to work in different locations.
• Must be available for extended overnight travel.
• Must be strong in leadership and organization.
• Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must be able to communicate with customers.
• Must have good computer skills and be able to complete internal and on customer forms.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
