Job summary

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, seeks a senior materials operations professional in Austin, TX. You will oversee the Advance Purchasing Programs (APP) globally, driving policies, procedures, and best practices while optimizing inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.

You’ll lead metrics development and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to achieve cost and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Oversee all aspects of implementation and operations of Advance Purchasing Programs (APP) globally.
• Establish and ensure adherence to best practice policies and procedures. Develop, implement and manage best practice in support of APP initiatives.
• Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.
• Develop, implement, track Materials Management metrics; perform root cause analysis and actions to improve any metric not meeting targeted goal
• Develops strategies to drive efficiency and effectiveness of Warehouse operations including inventory management/ staging and material handling processes, quality, and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the APP global implementation and ongoing operations, ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
• Define and enforce policies for APP, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across regions.
• Oversee inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control processes to optimize cost and service levels.
• Develop metrics for Materials Management; analyze root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Guide warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration to reduce costs.
• Manage department budgets and resource allocation, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
