Join our team as Task Force Director of Finance. You will provide hands‑on financial leadership and continuity across Auberge Collection properties during leadership transitions, openings, conversions, operational challenges, and other special assignments. Working remotely between assignments and traveling to properties as business needs require, you will quickly assess each property’s finance operation, strengthen accounting processes and internal controls, and partner with property and corporate leaders to deliver accurate reporting, disciplined balance‑sheet management, and sound business decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the senior property finance leader during task force assignments, establishing immediate priorities and maintaining continuity across the accounting and finance function.

  • Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate financial statements and complete, well‑supported balance‑sheet reconciliations.

  • Review balance‑sheet accounts, identify aging or unsupported items, develop practical remediation plans, and work with property and corporate teams to resolve issues promptly.

  • Oversee core hotel accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, payroll coordination, purchasing, cash management, credit, and banking controls.

  • Evaluate the property’s control environment and accounting processes; implement sustainable improvements consistent with company policies, management agreements, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow projections, variance analyses, and other financial reporting that supports property performance and informed decision‑making.

  • Partner with the General Manager, Executive Committee, department leaders, and corporate Finance to analyze financial results, labor, operating expenses, working capital, and opportunities to improve profitability and flow‑through.

  • Support owner reporting, internal and external audits, tax and licensing requirements, capital planning, and other property or corporate requests.

  • Build clear, repeatable processes and documentation; identify opportunities to simplify work, improve accuracy, reduce risk, and strengthen accountability.

  • Lead, coach, and develop property Finance team members, clarify roles and expectations, and provide effective training and knowledge transfer.

  • Support onboarding and transition to permanent Finance leadership, including a disciplined handoff of open items, risks, deadlines, processes, and stakeholder commitments.

  • When not assigned on property, support portfolio balance‑sheet reviews, reconciliations, cash‑flow reviews, pre‑opening budgets, process‑improvement initiatives, and other Finance Operations projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Five or more years of progressive hotel or hospitality finance and accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.

  • Strong command of accounting fundamentals, USALI 12th Edition, financial reporting, month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, cash‑management, and internal controls.

  • Prior experience as a Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, Controller, or comparable senior hotel finance leader is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess unfamiliar operations quickly, establish priorities, solve problems, and deliver accurate work in fast‑moving environments.

  • Experience leading and developing property Finance teams and partnering effectively with General Managers, department leaders, owners, auditors, and corporate stakeholders.

  • Working knowledge of hotel financial and operational systems, including general‑ledger, reporting, property‑management, point‑of‑sale, purchasing, payroll, and accounts‑payable platforms.

  • Strong process orientation, analytical judgment, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently from a productive home‑office environment and travel regularly, including extended on‑property assignments, as business needs require.

  • Luxury, lifestyle, resort, multi‑property, opening, transition, conversion, or task force experience is preferred.

  • CPA, CMA, CHAE, or another relevant professional certification is preferred.
