We are actively seeking a Director to become an integral part of our Finance & Management Consulting Practice at MMC Consulting. As a Director, you will play a key role in client service & team leadership. Key responsibilities will include fostering client relationships, developing team members, delivering specialized finance & accounting solutions to our clients, and contributing to the overall success of the firm.

As a Director at MMC Consulting, you will serve clients in finance, accounting, and operations and will play a crucial role in driving the success of the firm through effective leadership, client management, and strategic planning. Your work will be related to finance transformations, transition services, process and controls improvement, financial analysis and reporting, system implementations, and project management. Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience including functioning as a Management Consultant, Manager in an Audit Practice, Controller, Finance Manager, or CFO
  • A combination of Industry (Controller/CFO) and Professional Service (Management Consultant or Auditor) experience will be given preference

Skills:

  • Strong financial and accounting acumen with a deep understanding of financial principles and practices
  • Able to effectively manage and direct teams with project plans and team collaboration across multiple clients and multiple engagements, on time and on budget
  • Proven capability in leadership, team development, and effective communication
  • Proven track record of success in developing strong client relationships
  • Proven capacity to ideate and solve for issues and challenges and execute solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to a non-financial audience

Client Service Responsibilities:

Finance Advisory:

  • Provide clients with transitional services to guide key leadership changes in a strategic organized process that enables value capture, optimization, and sustainable success of new leaders
  • Lead finance assessment and transformations by identifying inefficiencies in financial and accounting processes and implementing improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Review technical accounting and internal control memos tailored for client needs
  • Analyze and evaluate internal controls related to financial risks
  • Develop and implement strategies and procedures to improve internal controls
  • Manage client engagements while leading a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and support
  • Oversee client organization's financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the company's financial health and stability
  • Advise clients on potential performance improvements opportunities, including but not limited to: cost optimization, pricing strategies, working capital improvement, investment initiatives analysis, etc.
  • Execute financial due diligence to assist clients with their M&A activity, including: performance analysis, quality of earnings assessment, preparation of opening balance sheet, intangible valuation, etc.
  • Work with clients to identify and assess the long-term impact of potential strategic business decisions

Project & Change Management:

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client expectations
  • Partner with clients to support execution of strategy related activities, including change management, stakeholder management, communications, learning & training, success measurement, readiness, leader enablement, change networks, etc.
  • Develop and manage project plans for system implementations (ERP, GL, Inventory management, etc.)
  • Completion of the firm's proprietary training program(s)
  • Participation in team engagement activities
  • Directly contributes to reinforcement of MMC Values & Competency and models excellence in client service
  • Directly manage engagements, fostering a collaborative and effective environment
  • Prioritize relationship building with new and existing clients to ensure satisfaction
  • Participate in internal operational projects, as needed including but not limited to training & development, feedback sessions, team management, and service & delivery
  • Travel to client locations & MMC Office is required

Compensation:

The expected pay range for this position is $130,000 - $216,000 inclusive of base salary, annual bonus, and additional bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance, exclusive of other benefits listed below for which this role may be eligible.

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, education, training, licensure and certifications, other business and organizational needs, and applicable laws.
