Deep East Texas Council of Governments seeks a Director of Finance to lead fiscal operations, policy administration and management of the organization’s funds. The role reports to the Executive Director and partners with program managers to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
The position demands CPA and/or advanced degrees with strong knowledge of public finance, audits and grant administration. This is an exempt, full-time role with regional travel requirements and competitive benefits.

REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT FULL TIME
The Director of Finance performs highly advanced policy administration and managerial work related to fiscal operations and assists the Executive Director in the control and management of the organization’s funds.
Certified Public Accountant preferred. Master’s degree with a major in accounting or finance preferred. Highly qualified candidates with an undergraduate degree and experience working in governmental accounting or auditing offices will be considered. Must have good knowledge and understanding of local, state and federal laws and regulations, and of principles and practices of public administration and management. Grant management experience is a plus. Experience working for a regional council of governments is a plus.
Salary range: B27 – Director II; $84,182 - $115,374 per year depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan and other benefits.
Salaries of the Deep East Texas Council of Governments are funded by various state and federal grants; therefore, employment is conditioned on the availability of such funds.
