Mackenzie Stuart is recruiting on behalf of a growing transportation and logistics business seeking a senior finance leader to oversee the finance function for a specialist freight division. You will lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis while partnering with operational leaders to improve decision-making, profitability and growth.

You will also lead an established finance team and help modernise processes, systems and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of financial experience, with 5+ in management.
  • Strong expertise in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience partnering with operational and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of financial controls, compliance and risk management.
  • Confidence communicating financial performance to non-finance stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics or asset-intensive industries.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior financial adviser to divisional and operational leadership.
  • Oversee month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls and P&L analysis.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning.
  • Oversee billing, invoicing, collections and accurate revenue recognition.
  • Provide analysis on historical, planned and forecast performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue, margins, customer value and operational efficiency.
  • Support pricing decisions and the financial evaluation of new business.
  • Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, including managers and individual contributors.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
  • Drive process improvement and the effective use of finance technology and data.
