Job description

Compensation: $110,000 to $120,000 per year

Hotel Amarano offers a unique opportunity to lead finance at a distinctive AAA Four Diamond boutique hotel where Old Hollywood glamour meets modern California style. Located in the heart of Burbank's entertainment district, the hotel is just steps from Warner Bros. Studios and minutes from Disney, NBC, Universal Studios and Hollywood. Recently reimagined, Amarano features stylish guest rooms and suites, FYC Bar + Kitchen, a heated outdoor pool, fitness center and 2,200 square feet of flexible event space.

For a Director of Finance, this is an opportunity to join a high-touch, experiential property with a strong connection to the entertainment industry, a dynamic operating environment and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the hotel's financial performance and continued success.

Financial Leadership
  • Ensures timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Serve as a key member of the hotel executive team, advising the General Manager and department heads on financial matters.
  • Manage AP, AR, Payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Accounting & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local laws, and hotel brand standards.
  • Completes day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and cash management.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Liaise with corporate external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
Strategic Planning
  • Partner with the General Manager to develop and execute the hotel's business strategy.
  • Drive cost control initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, MBA, or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, hospitality accounting standards, and financial systems (Birchstreet, Profitsword, Ultipro, Opera PMS, Toast).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Adobe.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
