Job summary

Dragos is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead a multi-team organization building and sustaining OT cybersecurity products, notably the Dragos Platform. This remote-first role reports to the VP of Engineering and oversees 35–50 engineers across disciplines such as frontend, backend, data, and AI.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of leadership experience, including 3+ years managing managers, and a strong background in software architecture, cybersecurity, and AI tooling.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading software engineering teams, including 3+ years managing managers.
• Experience leading an engineering organization of 20+ people across multiple teams.
• Strong technical background across frontend, data, networking, and backend.
• Fluency with AI development tooling and adoption in teams.
• Cybersecurity product company experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to present to executives and peers.
• Experience with agile cross-functional teams and performance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach engineering managers responsible for discipline-based communities.
• Provide technical guidance on software design, architecture, and testing practices.
• Set AI development standards and coach teams on tooling adoption and responsible use.
• Drive department-wide initiatives on standards, tooling, onboarding, and debt reduction.
• Partner with product directors to staff cross-functional teams and balance roadmap commitments.
• Coach tech leads and engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable software.
• Ensure long-term health of services and codebases, including operations support.
• Build influential relationships across engineering, product, and the business; escalate issues with context as needed.
• Own technical hiring, shape roles, run interviews, and raise the bar on onboarding.
