Job summary

Dragos, Inc. seeks an experienced Director of Engineering to guide a multi-team organization building and sustaining OT cybersecurity products, including the Dragos Platform. You will lead discipline-based communities and partner with product leaders to staff cross-functional teams.

You will mentor engineering managers, drive performance, and promote AI-assisted development practices while aligning technical work with security requirements and business goals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading software teams with 3+ years managing managers.
• Experience leading an engineering organization of 20+ people across multiple teams.
• Strong background across architectures including frontend, backend, data, networking, etc.
• Demonstrated fluency with AI development tooling and adoption strategies.
• Cybersecurity product company experience shipping commercial software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive updates and technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop engineering managers across disciplines and evaluate their performance and growth.
• Provide technical guidance on design, architecture, testing, and code quality practices.
• Set AI development standards, evaluate tooling, and coach teams on responsible use of AI.
• Own initiatives across engineering standards, delivery practices, tooling, onboarding, and debt reduction.
• Collaborate with product directors to staff cross-functional teams and balance roadmap commitments.
• Coach tech leads and engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable software.
• Ensure long-term health of services and codebases, including operational readiness.
• Build relationships across engineering, product, and business; escalate with clear context when needed.
• Own technical hiring: shape roles, run interview panels, raise the bar on onboarding.
