Job description

We are looking for a Director of Engineering who thrives on solving hard problems with Elasticsearch and Spring Boot. What you're really weighing is $164,000 - $237,000 against 10 years, with technology ownership and Strategic Consulting Inc growth tipping the scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Reach into legacy Critical Thinking modules and leave them cleaner than you found them
• Negotiate Redis tradeoffs with product when Strategic Consulting Inc timelines and reality collide
• Track and report on key performance metrics for technology services
• Translate the empathy-led Next.js outage into fixes that make the next San Antonio launch dull
• Design, build, and maintain reliable backend services using Node.js and Spring Boot
• Coordinate releases with stakeholders across San Antonio, TX and remote teams
• Build MySQL dashboards so Strategic Consulting Inc's technology team stops asking engineers for numbers
• Deliver director-quality features within the $164,000 - $237,000 Director of Engineering mandate

What You'll Bring

• Self-direction that survives a quiet Slack channel
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a director capacity
• The kind of reliability that earns you the hard assignments
• A history of leaving technology processes better than you found them

Strategic Consulting Inc treats San Antonio, TX as both home and laboratory, prototyping sharp-but-gentle technology ideas no larger rival would risk. We build an environment where high-trust ideas get tested quickly and credit is shared fairly.

You bring the Spring Boot; we bring $164,000 - $237,000, a mentor, a benefits package, and the freedom to grow on your terms in San Antonio.
