Four Seasons Jacksonville is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead a team of engineering and maintenance specialists, overseeing all interior and exterior facilities, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and grounds maintenance.

The role reports to the executive leadership team and requires five years of hotel/building engineering management, with travel for training and events. Start date targeted for October 1st.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of Director of Engineering experience.
• Five years of management experience in hotel or building engineering maintenance.
• Solid project management skills with strong work ethic, adaptability and leadership.
• Engineering degree or related professional certification (CEO E/BOMI/RPA/FMA/SMA).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Life/Fire safety systems, energy/green initiatives, and maintenance to ensure safety and comfort of guests and staff.
• Coordinate with Construction Contractors and owners to ensure Four Seasons quality during construction.
• Ensure Life, Fire, Safety equipment is up to standard; conduct feasibility studies during construction.
• Maintain documentation for construction phases including permits, licensing, drawings, and manuals.
• Perform quality control checks on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Oversee external contractors to ensure work meets high standards within timelines.
• Maintain supply of materials and equipment for day-to-day hotel operations.
• Drive asset lifecycles with preventative maintenance projects.

About the location:

Blending imaginative urban design on the banks of the St. Johns River, Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Jacksonville will be the centerpiece of the Jacksonville Shipyards, ideally located adjacent to the Sports Complex and proposed Stadium of the Future - a renovated and reimagined EverBank Stadium that will serve as home to the Jacksonville Jaguars while playing host to national and international sports and entertainment events for generations to come.

About the role:

The Director of Engineering forms part of the Executive Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Four Seasons Jacksonville. The Director oversees a team of Engineering and Maintenance specialists responsible for all engineering operations for interior/exterior facilities including plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recycling, electrical, ground care and parking areas.

Target start date for this role is October 1st.

What you will do:

• Responsible for Life/Fire safety systems, energy/green initiative systems and management of other engineering work necessary to maintain the property in an efficient condition to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and employees.
• Communicate with Construction Contractors, owners, owner's representatives in a construction phase site to effectively ensure Four Seasons Product during construction.
• Ensure Life, Fire, Safety equipment and installations are up to standardand feasibility studies during the construction phase for early detection changeorders implementation.
• Experienced in construction phase area to secure retrieval, and filing of constructiondocuments, permits, licensing, feasibility studies, and manuals, mechanical, electrical,wiring diagrams, hydraulics, blueprint updates, and testing and storage of necessaryequipment and material pars, etc.
• Perform quality control checks, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.
• Oversee all external contractors to ensure work is carried out to the highest standard in the allocated timescale.
• Maintain appropriate supply of materials/equipment to carry out the normal day to day operating and maintenance requirements of the hotel.
• Drive assets lifecycles with preventative maintenance projects, and reduce critical building issues.

What you bring:

• Three to five years of previous employment in a Director of Engineering position.
• Applicants are required to have five years previous management experience in hotel or building engineering maintenance. Managing a complex with multiple business units (hotel, residential, club, and commercial space) is preferred.
• We are looking for individuals who have solid project management skills, evidence a strong work/ethic, adaptability and flexibility and leadership skills.
• Qualifications are required either a Professional degree in an Engineering discipline, trade degree in a specific technical field relating to Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering) or CEOE – Certified Engineering Operations Executive from the Hotel and motel Hospitality Association, Building Owners Management Institution (BOMI) designation, Real Property Administrator (RPA), Facility Management Administrator (FMA) or Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA)
• Some travel is required for training, conferences and special events.
