Triumph Hotels in New York seeks a Director of Engineering to oversee daily engineering and painting operations across a large union property, ensuring upkeep, repairs and renovations of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, oil boilers, carpentry, and A/V equipment.

This role requires union hotel experience, strong supervisory skills, solid computer literacy, and verified certifications in oil boilers, electrical systems, and HVAC. Shift includes AM/PM with weekends and holidays.

• Assign and supervise the daily tasks of the engineering staff while providing a safe and efficient work environment.

• Monitor and report on expenses/supplies to aid in controlling costs while ensuring adequate staff and materials are on hand.
• Refer and follow up on maintenance issues/problems with Housekeeping, Front Office, and Guest Relations to protect hotel assets, ensure a safe and accident-free environment for guests and employees, and improve guest satisfaction.

• Create, develop, and maintain relationships, schedules, and billing with outside suppliers and vendors.

Summary

This management position is responsible for the supervision and implementation of daily engineering and painting operations in a large, older, union property. Responsible for the upkeep, repair, renovation, and maintenance of the property including, but not limited to: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, oil boilers, carpentry, building structure, room fixtures, A/V equipment, appliances, signage, painting, and wallpaper.

Union experience is a must.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

1. Assign and supervise the daily tasks of the engineering staff while providing a safe and efficient work environment.
2. Manage all staff scheduling, including call-ins and call-outs.
3. Prepare weekly payroll data.
